The DEV Champion contest is a code contest open to all West African developers to encourage them to progress in programming and algorithms. It is organized by AfricaCRM&SI a consulting firm in digital and organization. Participation is completely free of charge.
The contest will take place every 6 months with an official prize-giving ceremony which will take place in turn in different capital cities of the West African Zone (Ouagadougou, Dakar, Abidjan, Bamako, Conakry, Lagos, Accra,...)
The main objectives of this contest are to highlight the programmer’s profession and to identify the best developers to connect them with start-ups, national and international companies as well as public administrations for a fruitful collaboration (recruitment or service provision). The contest is open to all without restriction and concerns, for example, self-educated people, students, job seekers or employed workers.
More specifically, it will be to:
- enable people interested in programming test and improve their skills;
- create emulation between participants from the countries concerned;
- create a community of developers capable of sharing their technical knowledge and using it to meet the continent's issues.
The contest consists of a single round that will take place on Friday, November 08 from 17:30 to 19:30 GMT. Participants will have two (2) hours to solve algorithms of increasing complexity with the programming language of their choice (Java, Python, PHP, Node.js, Ruby, C, C++ and C#).
To do this, they will have to connect to a platform provided by the technical service provider and program directly online.
The results will be announced at the awards ceremony on Friday 29 November 2019 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
